About NSIDC: Jobs
The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), http://nsidc.org , at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) in Boulder, serves as a national information and referral center in support of snow and ice research. NSIDC manages and distributes scientific data, creates tools for data access, supports data users, performs scientific research, and educates the public about the cryosphere. NSIDC is also one of eight Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs) participating in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA's) Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) satellite program.
The Data Operations group is responsible for operating the EOSDIS Core System (ECS), which supports data from the NASA Terra, Aqua and ICESat spacecraft platforms, as well as other NSIDC data systems to further the NSIDC science mission. Data Operations is also responsible for data management of more than 650 data sets as well as defining data archival policies for the data center.
